01 · The Method

Thermal Imaging That Catches
What Eyes Can’t

A failing solar panel usually looks perfect. No crack, no discoloration, nothing a visual walk would flag. But it runs hot, and heat is the one thing a thermal sensor cannot miss. A dead cell, a failed bypass diode or a resistive connection shows up as a bright signature from 200 feet up.

Manual inspection means an IV curve tracer, a technician and hours per string. A drone thermal scan covers a megawatt in a single flight and returns a map of exactly which modules are underperforming and how badly, so your crew goes straight to the problem instead of hunting for it.

Every scan is flown by an FAA Part 107 certified pilot carrying $1M+ in liability insurance. We fly at the irradiance and time of day that produce a valid thermal delta, not whenever is convenient, because a scan run at the wrong conditions is worse than no scan at all.

What Our Solar Drone
Inspections Detect

  • Hotspots, localized heating from shading, debris or cell defects that degrades output and life.
  • Module cracks, microfractures and cell fragmentation from hail, transport or thermal cycling.
  • Bypass diode failures, showing as a hot third or half of a module.
  • Wiring and connection issues, resistive junctions, string faults and combiner problems.
  • Soiling patterns, dust, pollen and bird waste concentrated where it costs the most.
  • Panel delamination, moisture ingress and backsheet failure well before visible damage.

Who Uses Our Solar
Drone Inspections?

Solar Installation Companies

Commission new arrays with documented proof every module performs, and close out warranty claims with thermal evidence the manufacturer will accept.

Solar Farm Operators

Scan utility-scale sites in hours instead of weeks. Annual or semi-annual thermal surveys catch degradation while it is still under warranty and quantify the production you are losing.

Property Managers & O&M Teams

Verify that rooftop arrays across a portfolio are actually producing. One flight per site, one report, a clear list of what needs a truck roll and what does not.

04 · Deliverables

What’s Included in a
Solar Drone Inspection

  • Full thermal scan of the array, flown at valid irradiance with calibrated FLIR sensors.
  • Visual photos at matching positions, for physical damage, soiling and mounting issues.
  • GPS-tagged report, every anomaly located precisely enough to walk straight to it.
  • Thermal anomaly classification, sorted by severity and likely cause.
  • Panel-level issue mapping, overlaid on the array layout so crews know exactly which module.
  • 48-hour delivery on standard sites, with priority available for commissioning deadlines.

Serving Solar Installations
Across Texas

We are based in San Antonio and fly solar work statewide: Austin and the I-35 corridor, Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, the Permian Basin and West Texas farm sites. Travel outside the San Antonio metro is quoted upfront, and multi-site programs are scheduled together to keep mobilization down.
